• Responsibilities : 

  • Manage Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL DBs through multiple life-cycle environments - Dev, QA, Staging and Production.

  • Database Architecture Design, Planning, Scalability Assessment, Migration and Upgrades and Performance Tuning.

  • Design, build Migration plans inducing support-ability, Apps impact matrix data sheet design.

  • Provide 24/7/365 support & monitor for all enterprise databases to ensure their stability/growth, performance KPIs , proactive monitoring.

  • Monitor database performance and capacity, forecast system demands, and recommend upgrades, expansions, and re-configurations.

  • Track data growth and performance trends and implement long-term capacity plans and scalability solutions.

  • Implement, deliver and test backups in a way which meets key Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), and best Recovery Time/Recovery Point objectives (RTO).

  • Achieve systems KPIs such as Incidents SLAs, Incidents MTTR, and MTBF indicators.

  • Assess and Develop long-term strategic goals for databases in conjunction with data owners and department managers.

  • Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLA) with internal and external customers and root cause analysis when SLA targets are not achieved.

  • Experience in Analyzing and defining capacity planning for SQL instances and Responsible for capacity planning on yearly basis.

  • Conduct the migration from legacy database systems to new advanced database systems and ensuring a smooth transition

  • Perform evaluations to ensure data security, privacy and integrity on a regular basis.

  • Troubleshooting DB server service outages as they occur, Proactive solutions and maintenance.

  • Design, implement DB HA & DR strategies including backup plans, Clustering, Always On Availability Groups AOAG, Log Shipping, Replication, RAC and DataGaurd.

  • Align implementation of audit findings, policies and procedures to ensure server/database security.

  • Collaborate with IT teams and management to devise a data strategy that addresses industry requirements.

  • Experience Writing documentation ,Design Run books, Azure Data Studio - ADS Notes for entire database systems and including data standards, procedures, such as health check.

  • Engage in and improve the entire life-cycle of the datalake concept — from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement.

  • Expert maintenance and implementation of integration tools such ETLs, SSIS packages, stored procedures, etc.

  • Troubleshoot live database issues including performance optimization and recovery.

  • Develop automation and alerting scripts, maintain complex query and schema refinement.

  • Excellent Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Excellent Knowledge of a scripting language such as: Python or R.

  • Experience working with containers and container orchestration solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.

  • Experience in Build, Upgrade and Migration of databases from on-prem to cloud (Public , Private, Hybrid).

  • Experience with other aspects of Azure, such as provisioning and managing VMs.

  • Organize and maintain access rights to business intelligence tool and dashboards.

  • Collaborate with Reporting & Analytics team members to write code, develop scripts and/or create calculations to aide with development of BI visualizations.

  • Partner with the IT team to import additional data sources into the BI system.

  • Experience in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining.

  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL framework.

  • Experience in SSIS/SSAS/SSRS technologies with a deep understanding of data structure / data models to design, develop, and tune BI solutions and reports.

  • Develop standard reports, ad-hoc reports and functional dashboards based on business requirements.

  • Design, develop and deploy BI solutions, including interactive dashboards in Power BI, Oracle PI publisher, Oracle Desktop visualization and other visualization tools, sourcing data from internal multiple sources, external sources, and leveraging ETL tools when needed.​​​
